Christmas Wish List

Todays Christmas Wish List is made with my 11 year old daughter in mind. She is a total soft toy/teddy nut and shows no sign of wanting to put her massive collection away. In fact, she spends alot of her pocket money on soft toys!

So I've been doing a bit of searching on Etsy and Folksy to find some.

First up is actually one that Alex spotted herself.
This sweet little Amigurumi Monkey Mollie is made by
Cute Designs and so certain is she that Santa is bringing her, that she has prepared a bedroom already!


On looking around for other soft toys, I found this gorgeous Spotty Sock Bear from Clarebears. I know she would just love it's funky spots!


And finally, I was looking on Folksy and spotted this lovely Pink Bear with Heart from Nikki's Knits Alex shows no sign of growing out of pink either, so this wee bear would be perfect.

Have you ever been to County Fermanagh?

In another in my occassional series about Northern Ireland, I thought I would show you what Co. Fermanagh has to offer.

Co. Fermanagh is the most westerly county in NI and is the only county not to border Lough Neagh. Tourism is one of the most important industries in this area and a lot of it centres around Lough Erne. Watersports abound here and you can experience everything from fishing to waterskiing, canoeing to cruising. There is also caving, walking and golf.



For golf enthusiasts, there is the Lough Erne Golf Resort in Enniskillen. As well as a stunning hotel there is a Nick Faldo designed golf course - the first in Ireland. If golf isn't your thing, there is always the hotel spa to relax in.



If you get tired of all that the Lough has to offer and need some retail therapy, Enniskillen is the place to go. Enniskillen means Island of Kathleen, a mythical queen of ancient lore who was drowned there. As well as shopping the castle and museums are worth a visit. Enniskillen Castle was built almost 600 years ago by Gaelic Maguire chieftains. Guarding one of the few passes into Ulster, it was strategically important throughout its history. In the 17th century it became an English garrison fort and later served as part of a military barracks.



Co. Fermanagh is also famous for Belleek Pottery and if you wanted to find out more, you can visit the Belleek Pottery Visitors Centre

Finally, one of the things I used to love as a child was visiting stately homes and I remember visiting 2 beautiful ones in Fermanagh - Florence Court and Castle Coole Both are National Trust properties and well worth a visit.

Friday Roundup

Well, I'm glad I decided to restock my Folksy shop last week, as I've had 4 sales in it! I've gone a bit mad as usual over buying beads, so have vowed not to buy anymore until Christmas, unless I really need to. I'm not sure yet what constitutes 'needing to' buy beads, but I shall be testing my resolve!

I have left some new items into the shop I supply and there were only 2 necklaces that haven't been sold since I last gave them some, so I'm well pleased.

This week I've been quite busy making up new bracelets for my online shops and have been swearing at the weather! As I take all my pics outside the persistant rain we have been having here is making photo taking especially difficult. I have been dashing out between showers to try and snap off a few shots - not ideal.

I have long thought about a black and white Bubbles bracelet and this week have finally made one. I called it the Guinness Pearl Bracelet and am pretty pleased how it has turned out.



I also made this Dark Olive Bubbles Bracelet which is a mix of glass pearls and Gutermann Haiwiian Beads.



And finally I made this rather bright Black and Emerald Green Memory Wire bracelet with a view to all those parties coming up.

Christmas Wish List

I've decided in the run up to Christmas to do some virtual shopping on Etsy and Folksy and hopefully find some gifts for family and friends.

First up is for the man in my life. Hubbie dresses up for work, jeans and t shirts at home and hobbies are cars, athletics and watches!

I have long admired cufflinks in QuercusSilver shop. I especially like these Ripples in Sterling Silver



I think he would love this Triathlon - Unisex X Large long sleeved t-shirt in grey by totalradness as his goal is to complete a triathalon.



And finally, I found this amazing Copper Watch Face Leather Band Wristwatch watch by kapadesigns



I found some gorgeous items for men and have marked a few as favourites. I will definitely be buying some stocking fillers for Andy from Etsy for Christmas.

I've been buying!

It was my good friend Katherines birthday recently and I forgot - of course! So I wanted to get her something special that would be delivered to her door in Scotland. I had my eye on a gorgeous necklace in Chameleonites shop, so I got Mel to ship it directly there for me. Needless to say, Katherine was delighted with it!



Now all I have to do is find an excuse to buy this lovely Enchanted Whisper Vintage Pink Lily Pendant Necklace

Front Page!

Thanks to the lovely PaisleyChainsaw I was featured on Etsys front page again on Sunday evening. This is the third time I've made the front page recently in one of her treasuries, so thank you so much!



I was lucky enough to log on a few minutes before the front page changed so managed to catch my 5 minutes of fame! The bracelet featured got an amazing 30 new hearts and over 300 views, which was brilliant!
