Spring Madness

Since January 1st my shop has been madder than a mad thing.

I have had 315 sales, which averages out nearly 80 sales a month, and as most of those have been for multiple items, it's been a bit crazy!!

I realise that it's due to Wedding Season and am not sure when that will slow down, but I reckon pretty soon. Then no doubt I shall bemoan a lack of sales.

Since I last blogged there have been more changes on Etsy. I followed the whole reseller-as-featured-seller fiasco in the forums and am waiting to see how the rushed-in-to-cover-up the said fiasco Wedding Categories fiasco will pan out. I am one of the lucky ones, several of my bracelets are being featured in the bridal party category. I understand how completely frustrated other sellers are though, as tomorrow I may be one of them and not featured at all.

I've also received my first negative feedback. From a buyer in the US who was unhappy that her item hadn't arrived with her in 3 working days. Etsy admin refused to change it as they don't judge the fairness of feedback, which means that international sellers on Etsy will always be vulnerable to unfair feedback from buyers who have unrealistic shipping expectations. I have now added to all my listings, as well as shop announcement, policies and a follow up convo, that I am in the UK and therefore shipping times will be slower. And I must say, maybe it was me being sensitive after that big red neg, but many of my lovely buyers leaving feedback after it have gone out of their way to comment on speedy shipping considering I am international - so thank you!!

OK I'm not even going to try and make excuses for my lack of blogging throughout all of January - that's a new low even for me!!

January was my busiest month yet on Etsy. It appears that with Christmas and New Year out of the way, brides to be have been doing some serious wedding planning and my sales last month were twice what I took the entire first year I was Etsy. It appears that my bling range has been a bit of a success and sales of that style far surpass either that of the memory wire bracelets or the pearl cluster range.

I've introduced a personalized element with this Birthstone Ivory Pearl Bracelet which seems popular with brides and for their bridesmaid gifts.


I've also been working on some bracelets using matching colours, like this Hot Pink and Tangerine Bling Bracelet

I'd appreciate some ideas for more colour matching if anyone has tips for hot colours this spring/summer :)

Can't believe it's been a month since I last blogged. Well I can really! November and December were completely manic with my new bling range selling like hot cakes. Then came the Christmas break, when I haven't lifted a pair of pliers for a couple of weeks. To top it all off I got featured in the Etsy Finds email a couple of days before Christmas, which was fantastic but which would be been ever more fantastic a couple of weeks earlier before the last Christmas shipping dates.

Anyway, just wanted to wish everyone a healthy, successful and peaceful New Year.

This past week or 2 I've been adding to my bling range of pearl bracelets I had the idea that most people like a bit of sparkle and glitter to wear over the christmas festivities and they've been selling well, so I think I was right!
