UK Handmade Wedding Guide

Today the UK Handmade Magazine Wedding Guide came online and I'd delighted that one of my bracelets has been included! This Lavender Pink Freshwater Pearl Cluster Bracelet is among the many gorgeous, handmade items featured in the guide.

If you are getting married or know someone getting married and who is looking for unique, handmade items for the Big Day, definitely check it out!

Wedding Showcase

I thought all you Etsy sellers might be interested to find out how my wedding showcase went yesterday and whether I feel it was worth the $15.

First, my shop had a definite increase in shop views - 1100+ over the 24 hour period with a total of 13 new shop hearts.

The bracelet featured got 300+ new views and 5 new hearts.

I did alternate it for a period yesterday afternoon with this Rose Pink Swarovski Crystal and Pearl Cluster Bracelet

which got 50 views and 2 hearts.

Notice that I got no sales as a result of the showcase but I did get a custom request for 8 Bubbles bracelets as a direct result of the showcase. So if that all works out then I would say yes, the $15 was money well spent. I'll keep you posted!

Friday Round Up

This has been a busy old week again, both crafting wise and personally. I finished my last custom order for Bubbles bracelets and have had a couple more enquiries for bridesmaids. Off line the shop I supply rang to say that everything I had left in has sold. I make necklace and earring sets for there, which is a lovely change from wire wrapping pearls!

Online, I've added a new Ocean Bubbles Pearl Cluster Necklace which matches the Ocean Bubbles Bracelet in my Etsy shop.

I've also got a new Ivory and Gold Bubbles Bracelet with all those summer brides in mind!

And finally, I had a frantic weekend of memory wire making and ended up with several new designs in spring shades, including this striking Purple one.

Weekly RoundUp

I can't believe it is Friday again! I am so glad to have the third and final Relevancy Thursday out of the way as well. I don't know how everyone else has found it, but no matter how much tweaking of titles and tags, my items are nowhere near page 1 of the listings.

Anyway, I've been working on some new bits and pieces this week.

The first is this Honey and Amber Cluster bracelet which is hasn't a pearl in sight :)

Next is this Plum Cluster Bracelet which is a mix of faceted glass beads and pearls.

And finally, definitely one of my new favourites, this Copper and Burnt Sienna Memory Wire Bracelet

Etsy Showcases!

I've always been a bit unsure about buying a slot on one of the showcases on Etsy, as I've not read particularly good things about them in the forums.

However I eventually decided to bite the bullet last Friday on the Fall Wedding Showcase and thought I'd share my experience. Coincidentally that was the night I was on the FP as well - typical!- so it's hard to tell which results have come from which!

The item I featured in the showcase, the
Fizzy Bubbles Bracelet is one of my best sellers as a bridal piece.

It didn't sell on Friday.

However I did get 4 enquiries about custom orders for bridesmaid accessories. 2 of these have become definite orders for multiple items, which is fantastic!

So would I pay the $15 again for a showcase?

Well, I wouldn't say definitely yes, but I may be tempted to do a wedding one again, as I do think it brought extra exposure to my shop. It's not something I would rush into though, as I think $15 is pretty steep for one days advertising.

Friday Roundup

My week started off nicely when I received my Moo cards. Someone had put a link in the Etsy forums that Moo was having a promotion where you got 50 Moo cards free. I've been meaning to get myself some for ages, so made use of this opportunity and I'm really pleased with them!

I've been working on some variations of the Pearl Bracelets this week and decided to try some mixed with Swarovski crystals. This Champagne Crystal Bubble Bracelet has 8mm crystals nestled amongst the pearls, which gives it a real bridal look.

I made these Champagne Crystal Earrings to match. I do make earrings, they just don't sell very often online!

And I made this Ocean Pearl Memory Wire Bracelet.

I've been struggling this week with taking photos. It's been so dark, wet and dismal here that I've having to rethink my pic taking. I usually take them outside but am planning on reading up on the Storques article on making a lightbox, as I dread the winter and trying to take pics in the half light.

So watch this space!

Friday Roundup

It's Friday so its time for me to fill you all in on my week. As some of you are aware, I've had a job interview today so have spent the best part of the week preparing for that. No word on that as yet, but fingers crossed I'll finally be working as a physio again soon.

I seem to have had a bit of success on Etsy at the minute after I suddenly had the brain wave of tagging my pearl bracelets as 'bridal' I've had several custom orders as a result and am currently working on a BIG order, which I'll fill you in about once it's completed.

I did manage to make one new piece this week. It's called Shades of Gold Bubbles Bracelet and it's a variation on my Bubbles theme. This time though I have used an antiqued gold chain with a mix of pale gold, ivory, bronze and browny/gold glass pearls.

So now I'm off to wire wrap loads of pearls in the hope that I get my custom order completed this weekend and I can show it off next Friday!
